Another true believer in the power of individuals to change the world here. Jackie's book is great. For innovation that is influencing our lives right now, you might also like Overtreated by Sharon Brownlee. It's a riveting story about the real economics of medical care and how Dr. Jack Wennberg and a small start-up (Health Dialog) quietly framed ideas and approaches to patient care that are now red hot, center-stage in the health insurance reform debate. To Jackie's point: Yes! It is one person, one crazy mission, one uniquely prepared mind that suddenly changes the world!

I'm a true believer that it only takes one person or one idea to change the world. Jackie Bassett's book reminds us of how many people worked to make life as we know it easier! I shudder to think about life without a dishwasher or air conditioner or electric lightbulb! I'm working on a few crazy ideas of my own. Who knows - maybe I could be one of those people Jackie writes about, making life easier for future generations! Thanks for the inspiration, Jackie!
