The Green Chemistry & Commerce Council (GC3), in collaboration with consumer product formulators and preservative manufacturers/suppliers, recently launched their Challenge to find new, safe, and effective preservatives, preservative boosters, or multi-functionals for use in personal care and household products. There are concerns about the impact of some preservatives on human health, particularly because of their widespread use. Therefore, the Seeker organizations desire preservatives with improved environmental health and safety profiles.

Seeker Spotlight: NHS England

NHS England, along with its partners in the Healthy New Towns Programme, have just launched the Healthy New Towns Design Challenge. This Challenge is seeking ideas for new housing developments that foster health, well-being, and independence for residents. These ideas for services, products, and facilities designs, whether new ideas or proven methods from different contexts, should be implementable in Halton Lea, a NHS England Healthy New Towns Demonstrator Site.  This ideation Challenge has a guaranteed total award amount of $20,000 and winners will earn public recognition for their contributions to the Healthy New Towns Programme.  We caught up with Dan Northam-Jones from NHS England to talk about the aims of the Healthy New Towns Design Challenge.

Lumina Foundation Announces LIFTed Prize 2017

Lumina Foundation recently launched their LIFTed Prize 2017 – Innovation in Postsecondary Learning. They are seeking organizations with an innovation that has a positive impact on postsecondary attainment in the U.S. This Prize is part of Lumina’s Goal 2025 – increasing the proportion of Americans with high-quality degrees, certificates, and other credentials to 60% by year 2025.
